About the Artist

Artist and Educator Allison Aubry spent most of her life growing up in a small suburban town in Southern New Jersey. In the beginning, art was all about playing, the imagination, and the process of creating. Some of Allison's first encounters with art involved designing homes and scenery for her Barbie Dolls, and creating storybooks, comic books, and original cartoons for her family. This led Allison to explore and master other forms of art, such as drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, collage, mixed media and photography. Allison's inspiration ranges from general subjects that interest her, or experiences in everyday life that inspire the creative process.

Presently, Allison Aubry is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University '13 majoring in Art Education. Allison is now a Master of Arts in Art Education graduate student at Boston University. Within the field of Art Education, Allison also has a strong interest in Art History, Art Therapy, and Community Arts. Art has become a form of therapy for Allison, along with generating feelings of expression at times when communication could not be formed in any other way. As an educator, she is interested in how students interact with their art, with their peers and community, and how they engage their emotions.
